Linda Maria Keifer1943 - 2014Linda Maria Keifer, age 71, passed away of pulmonary fibrosis at home on April 7, 2014.She was born in Nampa, Idaho on March 5, 1943 to Wilbur and Rita Crouch. She attended grammar school in Star, Idaho and Jr. High in Nampa. The family moved to Boise, Idaho and Linda finished her education at East Junior High and Boise High. In high school she was very active in Junior Achievement and the group she was leading won trophy honors. Immediately after high school she attended BJC for a year, then attended Carrol College in Helena, Montana for her second year.Linda came back to Boise and was hired in the administrative area of Boise Cascade headquarters. During this time she met Louis Fuess and they were married. They moved to upper New York state, which was Louis' home area and lived there for a year. Linda worked for a private company and a bank during that time. They moved back to Boise and Linda was re-hired by Boise Cascade. She and Louis later divorced but they remained good friends over the years. Using her excellent secretarial and communication skills she advanced to becoming an administrative assistant for several vice presidents. She retired in 1992 with 30+ years of service with Boise Cascade. She married Donald Keifer on July 1, 1978 spending 36 wonderful years together. They had many interests in common and knew many of the same people. She loved to fish the South Fork of the Boise River near Lowman eventually building a cabin at Terrace Lakes so fishing would be nearby, as well as playing golf in the summer and playing in the snow in the winter. Her favorite trips were to the island of Kaua'i with the view of the ocean and the beautiful sunsets. Linda was also an avid BSU Bronco football fan. She never missed a televised game. Linda loved all animals, especially cats. She and Don inherited 6 cats over the years....cats found them, not the other way around. After Don's retirement Linda and Don built a home in Eagle on the South Channel of the Boise River where she could sit on the patio watching the wildlife roam and play. She enjoyed riding behind Don on his Harley and visiting with his Harley group of friends. She wants all her friends and the people she has associated with over the years to know that they are all very special. She is survived by her husband Donald Keifer of Eagle, brother John Crouch (Judy), sister Karen Baker (Paul) of Carmel, California, nephew Michael Baker (Dana) and grandniece Riley, of Oakland, California, niece Susanne Baker of Oakland, California, stepchildren Lindy McPherson (Doyle) of Kuna, Idaho, Cindy Junge (Bryan) of Kuna, Idaho, Stan Keifer (Judy) of Morgantown, WV, and sister-in-law Shirley Rhodes (Jerry) of Grants Pass, Oregon.
