Todd Stephen Massey
1967-2010
Todd was born May 18, 1967 in McMinnville Oregon, to Dwaine and Joyce Massey. He was raised in Florence, Oregon and graduated from Siuslaw High School in 1985. During high school he was very active in both football and wresting. Todd joined the US Navy and went to boot camp in San Diego, California where he became an Aviation Mechanic Egress by attending training in Millington, Tennessee. He got stationed on the beautiful island of Oahu at Faireconron Three where he worked on C130 aircrafts. His squadron was the last point of communication between the President of the United States and our subs in case of nuclear war. The squadron had two detachments and Todd spent a lot of time at Moffett Field, California and Travis Air Force Base, California.
Todd met his wife, Shalae, at Travis Air Force Base in May 1989 and they were married in Honolulu, Hawaii on the 8th of November, 1989. Emily Renee was born in 1996 and Mitchell Ryan followed in 1998.
After Todd left the Navy, he worked at the Navy-Marine golf course and learned his pidgin, (Hawaiian speak). Shalae got stationed in Chicago in 1994 and Todd worked for Sam’s Club. He was offered management but decided to help his family open We’re Organized, in Spokane, Washington. Todd and Shalae were looking forward to moving to Idaho, but instead they ended up in the Seattle area for 15 years managing the family business. He had lived in Bonney Lake and Olympia.
Last May, Todd moved his family to Boise to start over. Todd sold cars for a few months at Lithia Motors and then was hired in to the Freedom Storage family as a site manager.
Todd enjoyed life to its fullest and always saw the positive in everyone. He loved with all of his heart, made friends easily and kept them for a lifetime. You could always count on him for a big smile and an honest offer to fix something right for you. He was a member of the NRA and the Republican National Committee.
Todd is survived by his wife, Shalae Massey of Kuna, Idaho; his children, Emily and Mitchell Massey; his brother, Mark Massey and wife, Macy, and their children, Ruby and Sterling of Wahaiwa, Hawaii; his sister, Kelly Goolsby and husband, Rick, and their children, Andrew, Megan, and Christian of Longwood, Florida; his parents, Dwaine and Joyce Massey of Amity, Oregon; and his great grandmother, Lucille Emily Massey.
Todd was preceded in death by his beloved Auntie Renee Marie Stephens, his beloved Uncle Don Stephens, his Uncle Dale Massey and Maxine Massey; and his Grandma Annie Ashley.
Memorial contributions are requested to the Shalae M. Massey Donation Fund at the US Bank, Kuna, Idaho.
