Carla Joan Starkey

Carla Joann Starkey (Christensen) passed away peacefully on July 18th, 2017 in Meridian Idaho.

She was born on October 21, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Carl and Dorothy Christensen.

She moved to Boise, Idaho in 1966 and worked for Boise Office Supply for many years. She also worked for Stix, Baer and Fuller as an accountant and did clerical work for Vess Soda Company.

On February 14, 1976 she married Leonard R. Starkey and moved to his dairy farm in Meridian Idaho. Carla loved the farm and all the animals, especially the baby calves and her dogs. She loved to garden and had beautiful rose bushes. She was a devoted wife and a loving and supportive Mother. She had a beautiful smile and an infectious laugh and her sweet manner and generous heart touched all those she knew. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Dorothy; her husband, Leonard; her sister, Peggy Miller; and her nieces, Julie Pitti and Susan Miller. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Anna; her step-daughter Sarah Jane Munsey; Sarah’s daughter, Jill Barnard and her sons; her brother Niels Christensen; her sisters, Doris Palmisano and Linda Della Croce, as well as many nieces and nephews and their children. Carla requested no services, but please feel free to make a donation in her name to a local hospice or charity of your choice. She will be buried at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery next to her husband. I love you Mama, I know you are flying with the angels.
