Clarice Aneta Wood, 89, of Meridian, passed away November 1, 2017 of natural causes. Clarice was born March 6, 1928, in Bismarck, North Dakota. Her family moved to Meridian, ID when she was 8 years old and she has lived in Meridian all these years. On Oct. 4th, 1946, Clarice married Gene Wood. Clarice was a homemaker, raising four children. She was a strong member of the First Church of Christ, now known as Ten Mile Christian, working in various children’s ministries into her 80’s. In the late 1960’s she started her career in food service by working in the hot lunch programs in local elementary schools. Her last place of employment was at the St. Alphonsus hospital cafeteria. She enjoyed camping with her husband, Gene, and her children. Gardening, sewing, reading and volunteering at church were her favorite activities.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Frederick and Inez Rossow; her husband Eugene “Gene” Wood; her sister, Florence Rossow; and her son Eugene “Skipper” Wood.
Survivors include her children, Pamela Wood and her husband, Frank; Nancy Williams and her husband, Mike; and Fred Wood; daughter-in-law, Shelley Hankins; a grandson, Michael Williams and his wife, Alba; great-granddaughter, Annie Williams; her sister Maxine Wheeler; Her surviving sisters and brothers-in-law are: Thelma and Zenie Scott, Grace Wood, Neva and Johnny Timmons and Betty and Jack Brunk.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 13, 2017 at the Ten Mile Christian Church, Steve Moore officiating. There will be a viewing on Sunday, November 12 from 4-6:00 pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Contributions may be made in Clarice’s name to the children’s department Ten Mile Christian Church, 3500 W. Franklin Rd. Meridian, Idaho 83642
