Donald “Bud” Lee Russell, 88 passed away at home in the early morning hours of Friday, November 17, 2017 surrounded by his eldest daughter Donna, who lovingly cared for him the final years of his life and his eldest son Rod with wife Kathleen. His peace came quickly and without pain, which his family is thankful for. We are also thankful to his Hospice Team of Angels that helped care for him the past 9 months.

Don was born August 31, 1929 to Clifton and Ethel Russell of St Joseph, Mo, one of 13 children. He proudly served in the US Air Force for 20 years (1948-1968) achieving the rank of Staff Sargent. During his Air Force years he met and married Betty Lewis of Boise, ID on September 19, 1953. They lived, loved, fought and forgave and raised 5 children during their 64 year marriage. After his Air Force years, the family settled in Boise where Don worked several jobs before working and retiring from the Boise School District. They eventually relocated to Meridian, Id for their retirement years. Don enjoyed chatting and telling stories with family, friends and strangers, fishing and watching westerns. He was Bud to his family, Dad to kids not even his own and Grandpa to so many! Don is survived by his wife Betty, children Donna Inman(Andy), Rod Russell(Kathleen), Paul Russell(Gayle), Judy Russell(Jim), Dianne Stilwell(Darrell). Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Four siblings Gary, Loyd, Betty, Linda and many nieces and nephews.
