Earl C. Huntsinger

Earl Carlos Huntsinger was born June 30th, 1935 at home to farmers Carl and Margaret Huntsinger in Kuna Idaho.  He passed away quietly surrounded by his family on August 27th 2017. Early in life Earl worked the fields with his father and attended Kuna schools.  After graduating high school he set off for Moscow, Idaho to attend the University of Idaho where he earned his bachelor's degree in business.  While in Moscow he met his future, and only wife, Viola Loretta Hawkins. He says they met because the professor sat them in alphabetical order. During their marriage they raised 4 boys, Rhett, Eric, Aaron and Lonnie, who always seemed to be getting into mischief. Rearranging the boys names coincidentally spelled E.A.R.L.  He practiced the Accounting trade at various Caldwell businesses including Penny Wise Drug and Edmark Motors.  After retirement Earl enjoyed spending time with friends drinking coffee and fixing the world’s problems, keeping fit at Idaho Athletic Club, watching football or baseball, and just spending time with his boys and their families.  Earl was a true gentleman to the end - he never let a lady open her own door, scrape ice from her windows, or water her own lawn if he was around.
Earl was preceded in his death by his wife, Viola; brothers, Carl Jr and John; and sister Clara Gray. He is survived by his sons, Rhett, Eric (Gina), Aaron (Gloria), Lonnie; sister Doris (Aiden) Wheeler; 9 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Graveside Services will be held Friday September 8th at 11:00 a.m.
