Ena “Carol” Painter (Sorensen)
Entered into life March 11, 1938
Entered into rest February 11, 2017

Carol was one of 6 girls, “The Gibson Girls,” of Santa Rosa California. She married the love of her life Oscar Sorensen on November 20, 1955. They were soul mates for 31 years until Oscar’s death on December 25, 1986. Carol then met, loved and married Kenneth Owen Painter on February 13, 1988. They traveled and had fun together. Ken died February 5, 1995. Her last love was Gale Gibbs (Galey). They had a place in Clear Lake as well as a residence in Fremont, California. They loved taking their dog Eddy up to the lake as often as they could. Galey and Carol loved and laughed often until Gale's death on August 31, 2005. Carol was lucky in love and had a lot of love to share, just unlucky at time…

She was a loving caregiver to her loves and then was left to struggle with Parkinson’s alone with her daughters Julie Miller and Jan Leverton to help her. She lived at Morningstar (Assisted living) in Boise and made many friends there. I was so happy for all the love and compassion she received while living there. The last days of her life were surrounded by friends! Janine Sawaya she loved you!

Carol is preceded in death by her parents John Vance Gibson and Margaret Butler Gove, her husbands Oscar Sorensen, Ken Painter, and companion Gale Gibbs and her five sisters Jeannie, Sara, Kay, Evelyn and Vera as well as her infant son John Oswald Sorensen.

Carol leaves behind her son Oscar (Carol) Sorensen Jr., daughters Julie (Terry) Miller and Jan (Kevin) Leverton, seven grandchildren and one great grandchild. Carol was a loving person who loved the outdoors. She was loved by many and will be missed forever.

Services entrusted to Chapel of the Chimes Funeral Home and Cemetery in Santa Rosa, California.
