Tribute

James Maxwell Tikker, affectionately known as Jim, Dude, or “The Dude”, passed away at the age of 54 on April 11, 2024, in his hometown of Boise, ID. He was born to Betty and Al Tikker on October 19, 1969, in Anaheim, California. In 1972 the family moved to Meridian, Idaho with Jim calling the Treasure Valley his home for the remainder of his life.

Jim was a proud graduate of the first graduating class at Centennial High School, class of 1988. He had a passion for sports, especially baseball, where he was renowned for his wicked curve ball earning him the title of outstanding pitcher for Centennial HS in his senior year.

Jim had several passions in his life. Whether skiing the moguls at Bogus Basin, enjoying the many Idaho natural hot springs, or just camping with friends, Jim had a true love of the outdoors. He also found joy in music, with a penchant for bands like Depeche Mode, Blondie, and The Rolling Stones. An avid cook, Jim delighted in preparing meals for himself and others. One of Jim’s favorite pastimes was hosting or attending poker night with his friends, combining his love of cards with cherished friendships.

Jim fostered lifelong relationships with many friends, extending his hearty laugh and generous spirit beyond his family. As a trusted confidant, he offered solace, guidance, kindness, love, and support to all who visited and called upon him.

Preceded in death by his mother, Betty, and sister, Christine, Jim leaves a legacy of love and laughter. He is survived by his father Al (Millie); his brother Bob (Jen); his nieces Sara (Garth) and Laura (Skyler); and his feline companions, Stone and Itch.

Services to honor Jim's life will be held on May 4, 2024, at Cloverdale Funeral Home, 1200 N Cloverdale Rd., Boise, ID. A celebration of life service will begin at 11:00 AM, a catered reception will immediately follow at noon, and graveside services following the reception.
