Magdalene "Dalene" Lemberes, 67, of Meridian, ID and long-time former resident of McCall, ID, died July 14th, 2017, at home, from cancer.  Services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 22nd at the Community Congregational Church, 901 First Street, in McCall, Idaho. Reception to follow in the fellowship hall downstairs.  All are welcome.

Dalene was born February 6, 1950, in Ogden, Utah, to Mike and Franny Stathis, the sixth of seven children.  She was raised in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.  Dalene married her one true love, Scott Lemberes, on September 7, 1968, in Elko, Nevada.  They moved from Cedar City, Utah, to McCall, for Scott's job with the US Forest Service, in 1969.   The couple was actively involved with the Jaycees and Jaycee-ettes, and Dalene volunteered with the McCall Memorial Hospital Auxiliary for over 30 years.  They had a daughter, Kathi, and a son, Andrew.  Dalene worked as a florist for McCall Floral for many years.  She was very creative and loved designing flowers, wreaths and other home decor.  She went to work for the US Forest Service in McCall in the early 80's.  After Scott's death in 2006, Dalene moved to Meridian, Idaho and worked as a records clerk for the BLM in Boise.  She retired in 2014.  Dalene continued to stay busy in retirement, volunteering for the Meridian Senior Center,  hosting big family dinners, baking Greek pastries, and tilling her garden.  She loved Christmas and would spend two months decorating every room in her home.  She would cook and bake for weeks then host her annual Christmas party, inviting everyone she knew. "Aunt Lene" had a big heart and loved to help people whenever she could.  She always had toys and treats for her grandkids and numerous great nieces and nephews.

Dalene is survived by her daughter, Kathi Lemberes Hancock and son-in-law, Rob Hancock, of Boise, her son, Andrew Lemberes of McCall, and three grandchildren:  Alex (18), Max (14) and Hailey (14).  She is survived by two very special nieces, Morgan Hersel (Josh) of Eagle, and Nicki Martin (Frank) of Elko, and a very special nephew, Chris Adams (Lynn) of San Diego.  She is also survived by her brother, Harry Stathis, of Cascade, and numerous other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings:  Frocene Adams of Tucson, Steve Stathis, Dorothy McDaniel, Evelyn Leedom, and Nick Stathis, of Ogden.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society, or CancerCare.  The family thanks Treasure Valley Hospice, especially Teri, Jenn and Vicki for their compassion and dedication.  We also thank Bridges Home Health Care, especially Angie, Mariah and Raquel for their excellent care and patience.
