Marjorie (Margie) Pierce was born on July 14, 1917 in York, Nebraska, to Bertha and Albert Pinneo. She was raised in Nebraska with her sisters Frances, Mary Jean and youngest sister Shirley. In 1941 she married Ray Woodward and had three children – Mike, Bob and Kathy. They later divorced and she met and married the love of her life, Ed Pierce in 1957. Together they had three sons - Ed Jr, Steve and Randy.

Over the years, Margie worked in the retail industry and found her passion working in the health and wellness field. Most notably, she worked for Chase’s Health Food Store. Anyone who knew Margie was well-aware of her passion for helping others cure their ailments with her vast knowledge of vitamins and supplements. This passion for health attributed to Margie’s long life of 99.7 years!

Margie is survived by her children Mike Woodward, Bob Woodward, Kathy Kinney, Ed Pierce Jr (Alana); Steve Pierce (Jaye B.); and Randy Pierce (Mary); and by her sister-in-law and best friend Lois Obenchain. She was blessed with 13 grandchildren, Rob Woodward (Danielle); Chris Kinney (Jennifer), Nathan Kinney, and Becky Williams (Jake); Scott Pierce (Renee), Kristin Moore (Scottie), and Nicole Pierce; Jennifer Leeds (Chance); Marissa Nickel (Brendan) and Mikaela Ramos (Chelsey); and Katie Rodriguez (George), Kylie Pierce, and Kelsie Zentner (Jacob). Margie also had 21 great grandchildren, Cole and Jackson Kinney; Hailey and Jacob Woodward; Grady and McCoy Williams; Trenton Williams, Leigha Mayer and Easton Pierce; Pierce Moore; Sydnie and Skylar Rodriguez; Ryan, Rylie, Aiden and Bostyn Leeds; Asher Nickel; Paxton, Ryder and Berklee Ramos; and Simon Zentner. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Frances and Mary Jean, and her loving husband of 49 years, Ed.

Margie was the best mother and grandma that anyone could ever have and her home was the family gathering place where love and food always abounded. She taught us about family values, honesty, hard work, loyalty, and love of the Lord. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, reading, doing puzzles, watching her favorite show Wheel of Fortune nightly, knitting hundreds of dishcloths for her children and grandchildren, and family wood cutting adventures! She also loved family vacations especially to California to visit Disneyland. She inspired us all with her love of family, her amazing strength and her never ending zest for life. She will remain in our hearts forever.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 24, 2017, at 11 am at Cloverdale Funeral Home; 1200 North Cloverdale Rd, Boise, Idaho 83713. Burial will follow at 1 pm at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Idaho Humane Society; 4775 West Dorman Street, Boise, Idaho 83705 or www.idahohumanesociety.org.
