Richard Floyd Zancker 87 of Boise Idaho passed on Friday April 12,2024 of natural causes.

Richard was born on July 4, 1936, in Emporia, Kansas to Ivan and Gayle Zancker Richard is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served in the Boise Idaho Temple from August 16, 2017, to March 7, 2023. He served a service mission at the Garden City Cannery and then volunteered for several more years. He served in the Navy and U.S. Army for 34 years as a photographer traveling throughout the United States and many foreign countries. He had a knack for taking the perfect candid photo, one of which was when he met his wife Kathy on maneuvers in the Idaho desert. He retired as a Sargent First Class, after his retirement he spent many years caring for his mother. He always made friends wherever he went. He was an avid Gardner and loved sharing his talent and produce. Richard and his friend Ron loved making sauerkraut together and sharing it with others. Richard enjoyed performing as a clown with his children in his younger years as (Sparky and the 4 sparklers). He played Santa for many years at grocery stores and church and family parties.
He is survived by his wife Kathy of 37 years, Brother Lawrence Zancker and wife Barbara, Son James Zancker and wife Tina, Granddaughter Camicia Bennett, Daughters Diana Diehl, Christina Breen, Son William Thornton, Daughter Sara Johnson and husband Mike, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ivan and Gayle Zancker, Daughter Susan Terry and Son Steven Zancker.

A Committal service will be heald on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery located at 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road in Boise, ID 83714

Open House from 11:00 am to 4:00 PM at the Zancker home located at 8090 W War Bonnet Drive, Boise ID
