To Rus' family and friends: Rus was an especially nice and very smart person. I went to school with him in Meridian from 5th grade on. Over the years I ran into him several times, including at many youth sporting events. It was always a highlight for me to see and talk to him. I will always remember him for saving me from utter confusion at my first cross country meet when I did not know where to go to see my daughter run. He saw me looking perplexed and came over and explained everything. I pass my very deepest sorrow and prayers on to everyone who knew this great guy.

It was my pleasure to have worked with and known Rus for so many years at IGC. He was an admirable young man and loved those two boys so very much. In working directly with him the last few years before I retired, we became very close and he was much like a part of family. Rest in peace, Rus, I will miss you.

I was fortunate enough to get to meet Rus through youth sports. His commitment to, and love for, his sons was truly inspirational.

I never saw this man without a smile on his face! Rus was one of the real deal good men! He cared for his boys like a father should and his pride in all that they were doing shined through in every photo and every conversation! I am so sorry he had to go this way and too soon! I will miss your smiling face Rus!

We had the pleasure of getting to know Rus the last couple of years. He had a wonderful spirit about him and positively affected everyone around him. Our comfort is knowing his suffering is over and now he is enjoying streets paved with gold. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jeannie, Tatum and the family he leaves behind.
