Sandra D. Rich, “Sandy Jo” passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer on the 13th of February, at the age of 78. Sandy was an only child, born in Glenns Ferry, ID on September 14, 1939, to Eldon and Nadine Dean.

Sandy graduated from Boise High School, class of ’57. She married her high school sweetheart, Richard Rich, of Boise. While married to Richard, they lead the life of a United States Marine Corps family, having two sons, traveling from one duty station to the next, always supporting and loving her family. Upon their divorce, Sandy and the kids moved to Idaho in 1975, where she was hired by Wayne Kidwell as the Administrative Secretary/Receptionist for the Attorney General’s Office. For thirty years, Sandy was always proud to say that she served at “The Pleasure” of the many Attorneys General, serving both the office and the public. It was in this career, that Sandy met Lois Hurless, becoming life long friends. Lois and Sandy had always stuck together through all the adventures of life.

Sandy had two loves in her life, her family and reading. She was always a supportive, loving mother to her kids, with a sharp tongue when necessary and always a smiling Grandy Sandy to her grandchildren. As Sandy’s eyesight began to go and reading became impossible, it was her dear friend, Wanda Mosteller and her cousin, Carmen that she was able to share life’s stories.

Sandy is survived by her two sons, Mark Rich (Carolyn) of Boise, Darren Rich (Haibo Du) of Millcreek, WA, three grandchildren, Morgan Rich, Ian Rich and Sidney Rich, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Jett-Rich, two step children, Nicole Browning and Landon Browning, cousin Carmen Merritt (Gary) and last, but not least, her beloved dog and companion, Bizzy. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Eldon and Nadine Dean, her aunt, Georgia “Gigi” Dean and her love of many years, Marvin Gregersen, tragically killed in a plane crash in the backcountry of Idaho.

Sandy Jo’s celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday, February 20th at 6:00P.M. at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Any attendees are welcomed to share their stories about Sandy Jo’s life and what she meant to them. Never was a finer lady known!
