Tollie L. Gwynn, 81, died October 13, 2017 at his home in Meridian Idaho after a battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 18th at 1PM at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. There will be a reception following services at the home of Tollie and Gladys Gwynn.

Tollie was born on February 5, 1936 to Bert and Beulah Gwynn in Twin Falls, Idaho. Tollie was raised in Emmett, Idaho and graduated high school in 1954. Tollie loved playing the coronet and was President of his High School Pep Band.

On October 17, 1954, Tollie married Gladys Helzer in Emmett, Idaho. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri where Tollie attended a technical school. After they returned to Emmett six months later, to start a family, they welcomed Randy in 1955, 13 months later Monte arrived, followed by Lianne in 1958. In 1966 they moved into their forever home in Meridian, Idaho. During that time Tollie worked in the Emmett Saw Mill and eventually moved to Boise Cascade Corporate Office. There he was the Computer Operations Manager until he retired in 1998. As a member of the Meridian Athletic Association, he spent his Saturday nights during the summer running the office at the Meridian Speedway.

After retirement Tollie and Gladys spent many years traveling with Elmer and Sandra Helzer. They eventually bought a second home in Yuma, Arizona to spend their winters as snow birds.

Tollie is survived by his wife Gladys, three children; Randy(Valerie), Monte (Patricia), and Lianne(David) Cantrell. Also survived by five grandchildren; Katie(Shane) Crook, Stefani(Denver) Klick, Cory(Christine) Cantrell, Aaron, and Chelsea(Jon) Goodspeed, and nine great granddaughters, and one great grandson.

A special thank you to their wonderful neighbors Dick and Roberta Spangenberg. As well as their granddaughter in-law Christine Cantrell, Justine Hart, and the hospice team.

Dad/Grandpa rest in peace and we love you always.

“Dear Tollie, may there be only enough clouds in your life to make a beautiful sunset” (A quote written to Tollie by his mother in 1949).
