Who We Are

The Cloverdale name has been synonymous with excellence and compassion for over 70 years, and it is because of our people that we are known as Idaho's most trusted funeral service provider. Our staff works hard to earn that trust by being dedicated to the simple philosophy of taking care of each and every family as we would our own.
  • Proudly Serving Treasure Valley Families Since 1936

Cloverdale Memorial Park was founded on the outskirts of Boise on September 16, 1935. Early photos show teams of horses being used to work the ground and to make the pond along Fairview Ave. The first burial at Cloverdale was of Mrs. Verna Mae Carey, which took place on August 3, 1936. Mr. Dan Gibson purchased the cemetery on May 20, 1960, and constructed the Cloverdale Funeral Home in 1964. Cloverdale Funeral Home and has grown from serving approximately 40 families in its first year in business to serving over 600 families in 2009. Cloverdale is the only full-service funeral home, crematory, and cemetery combination facility in the state of Idaho.

Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens was started by a church group in 1958. Mr. Dan Gibson (owner of Gibson Funeral Home in downtown Boise and founder of Cloverdale Funeral Home) purchased the cemetery from a stock company in 1968. Mr. Gibson’s son Tim Gibson purchased the cemetery in 1988, and since 2007 Cloverdale and Terrace Lawn have been a part of Carriage Services. (Photo at left is Cloverdale, circa 1940
