On February 19, 2018, God called one of His warriors home.  Bradley Eugene Wilson passed peacefully in his sleep - otherwise he would have put up too big of a fight to stay here on Earth with his family.  Brad was born in the Spring of 1971 and lived his youth with energy that would exhaust most people.  He participated in everything he could from being “Wheels Wilson” on his baseball team to wrestling to basketball and any other challenge he found.  It was during these years that he also bonded his Brothers in Crime (you know who you are).  No one was safe from the shenanigans of these boys!  Today these boys are now men and have become Brothers in Life, banding together in support of each other.
Brad was an amazing brother and son.  The level of love, laughter, frustration and joy he provided to his siblings and parents was always top of his game.  It was often argued that he may have been the favorite, but he would say otherwise.  His parents agree he was the most humble, patient, caring, generous, fun loving person you would ever know.  He was their son.
Brad’s youthful antics and carefree ways carried into his late teen years until he met a golden-haired angel that took his breath and heart away.  Brad knew when he met Sarah Cox that he would marry her and, in doing so, also became the man he was always meant to be.  Brad and Sarah met in 1990 and were married in 1991 - why wait when you know it is meant to be!  As a husband, Brad gave so much to Sarah and (in her words) "changed her entire life".  Brad also gave all of his heart to his children: Ryan, Samantha, Lauren, Kiley, Blake, and Anthony.  He showed them what it meant to love without boundaries and have fun without limit.
Trying to describe Brad is difficult with words because he was more of an experience.  He simply couldn’t live one day without giving to someone.  His rules were simple:  Need to build something? I have a hammer.  Need someone to talk to?  I have a shoulder.  Need to move?  I have strong arms.  Need to pull a prank? Oh yes!  Count me in.  And anyone who had the experience of Brad’s Tickle Torture or Spine Cracking hugs would say he often gave until it hurt.
Brad was also all about community.  In 2007, he graduated from the Police Academy, driven by his desire to serve and protect his community.  Although his career path took him away from being an officer, his community spirit only continued to grow.  He and Sarah spent time as youth leaders at their church, and I hope he didn’t share his pranking ideas there.
Brad’s career path allowed him to impact many lives in many ways.  He spent his time showing others how much he cared about them.  No matter what hallway he graced, he became a permanent fixture.  His heart for people was evident with his co-workers and clients alike.  Having a bad day?  Count on Brad to cheer you up with an inappropriate joke or a big bear hug! Often enough, they were given at the same time.
Brad is survived by his parents, Harold and Nicky Wilson, his wife Sarah Wilson, children Ryan (Hailey and grandson Ira), Samantha, Lauren, Kiley, Blake, and Anthony, his brother Greg (Tanya), his sister Tracee, his nieces Kayla Caban, Ashley McDowell, Rebekah Wilson, and nephew Zechariah Wilson.
Brad, you have blessed so many lives with love, laughter and happy memories.  You will be greatly missed as a son, husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.  And finally, Brad was born May 1st, 1971 - May Day.  How fitting this is for it is the day of doing things for others anonymously.  There simply isn't a better day to celebrate Brad.
A memorial service will be held at Discovery Church on Tuesday, February 27th at 5pm.
