February 8, 1940 ~ May 13, 2021 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

On Thursday, May 13, 2021, Betty Bee Bolton passed away after a long, hard fight with cancer.  Betty was born in Geneseo, IL on February 8, 1940. 
Betty got her Bachelor’s Degree at Illinois State University where she met the love of her life, Elbert “Al” Bolton.  She ultimately went on to get her Master’s Degree while married and having three children.
Betty was a substitute teacher for several years while she raised her children.  She then became a full-time teacher in Fulton, IL where she and Al lived.
Later she became a college English professor at Mt. St. Clare catholic college.  She became a Mark Twain expert and facilitated several Mark Twain seminars over the summers.
Betty and Al were married for 50 beautiful years.  Both were very loving parents, grand-parents, and friends to everyone.  They stressed the importance of education to their children.  Betty’s main focus was to instill in her family to always live by the “Golden Rule” which is to treat others how you would want to be treated.  She had a love of life and loved to travel with her sister Gail, her children, and her cousin Mary Alice.
She was survived by Randy Bolton, Steve and his loving wife Lynna, and Kathleen Bolton-Graham. Cherished grandmother of Joshua (fiancé Jayde), Hannah (husband Joe), Jordan, Chelsi (Brady) and Jake (Whitney). She leaves behind great-grandchildren, Ashlyn, Olivia, Tatum and Jack.
Betty is also survived by her twin brothers, Dennis Haack and his children, and Dean (Barb) Haack and their children. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
 
Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband Al Bolton, her parents, William and Beatrice Haack of Geneseo, IL, younger sister, Gail and her husband, George Watrous, and loving sister-in-law, Geri Haack
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00pm, Thursday, June 3, 2021 at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, ID.
