Alan Leland Kester

Alan Kester went into the presence of his Lord and Savior on May 20th, 2018.  He was born February 1st, 1937 to Viola Johnson in Astoria, Oregon.  Alan was adopted by Frank and Marna Kester that same year.  He attended Longfellow, North Jr. High, and Boise High Schools.  He met Shirley Lane in the 7th grade and they were always known as "Alan and Shirley".  They were married in August of 1956, and were blessed with three sons; Michael (Shauna) in Meridian, Steve (Nyla) in Indiana, and Mark (Mary) in Oregon, and six grandchildren; Brian, Andrea, Seth, Morgan, Madeleine, and Hudson.  Alan located his birth mother and discovered he had two brothers and three sisters; Jim, Larry, Kathy, Glenda, and Kaye, with whom he was able to meet and share special times.  He found his birth father, Marvin Miller (deceased) and two brothers, Everett and Mel Miller.

Alan was a member of Westside Bible Church, serving faithfully for 60 years, and The Gideons International, serving in local and State offices for 48 years. 

Memorial services will be held at 1pm on Thursday, May 24th at Westside Bible Church, 2040 E. Fairview, Meridian, Idaho.
