Ann Marie Norris passed away on July 2, 2021. Ann was born on February 13, 1950, in Boise, Idaho to Isabel and Vernon Brassey. The family spent summers at their Placerville ranch and resided in Boise during the school year. Ann’s ancestors settled in Placerville in 1862.
Ann was the oldest of four children, followed by Carol, Eve and Vern. Ann had a close personal relationship with each of her siblings and she admired her parents for providing a loving home and their unconditional support.
Ann attended Collister Elementary, Hillside Junior High and Capital High School. She graduated with the class of 1968. Ann excelled in academics and was a member of the debate team.
After a year of attending Boise State University, Ann married Gale Chamberlin. They resided in Los Angeles and Ann worked as the administrative assistant to the Director of Nursing at Kaiser Permanente.
In the late 1970s, Ann returned to Boise and was subsequently divorced. She began her long career at Boise Cascade, starting in word processing and later she was promoted to editor in the Communications Department. Ann was responsible for editing the many employee, shareholder and financial publications produced by the company. Her co-workers admired her expansive knowledge of the English language and drive for perfection. Ann developed many close friends at Boise Cascade.
In 1989, Ann married fellow Boise Cascade employee Dave Norris. They were enthusiastic supporters of the BSU football team as season ticket holders and traveled to many of the out of town games. Ann enjoyed fantasy football and came in first place one season.
Ann appreciated all forms of music. The Mt. Hood Jazz Festival and Gene Harris Jazz Festival were favorite venues for Ann and Dave.
They formed special memories visiting the California wine country and especially enjoyed the Russian River wineries.
Ann had a passion for birds and raised cockatiels for many years. She had her first cockatiel in high school and was rarely without a bird the rest of her life. In Los Angeles Ann owned a bird store.
Ann developed a love of literature from her mother. She had a close relationship with her Aunts Helen Gebhardt and Joan Bergin.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents Isabel and Vernon Brassey and her sister Carol Brassey.
