Arnold Keith Burr SR

October 13, 1946 ~ May 1, 2021 (age 74) 74 Years Old

Tribute

Arnold Keith Burr Sr., 74, of Boise, Idaho, quietly slipped from this earthly life to his heavenly home on May 1, 2021, due to natural causes. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was a resident of the Salmon Creek Independent Living Center.
Arnold was born to Roy DeWann Burr and Adele (Rindlishbacher) Burr on October 13, 1946 at the Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was the second of 6 children.
He grew up in the Weber County Utah area where he graduated from Weber High School in 1964. On October 31, 1964 he married Doris Wiggins and had 4 beautiful children, Arnold Keith Burr Jr, Bruce Deon Burr, Wayne Dee Burr, and Carrie Dianna (Burr) Warner. He was working at the beet factory when they first met, and he had dreams of becoming of firefighter but was 1” too short to chase that dream. He went on to join the United States Army where he would be deployed to Heidelberg, Germany on Jan 11, 1966 and served there for 2 ½ years. Their marriage was sealed in the Zollikofen, Switzerland temple on Oct. 21, 1967. They later divorced in January 1974.
Upon his return to the states, he pursued a carrier as a long-haul truck driver where he would eventually suffer a life altering accident causing him to go into early retirement at the young age of 40 years old. He would later dabble in odd and end jobs afterwards.
On March 9, 1974, he married his 2nd wife, Kenna Haddon and they had a beautiful daughter, Gloria Kay (Burr/Robinson) Dearden. They would later divorce.
In 1978, Arnold’s dear friend Joe Mello introduced him to what became a lifelong passion with black powder shooting. He joined the Ee-Da-How Long Rife Club at the same time and served several positions during his tenure and that included President for 25+ years. It was through this club that he became involved with the Buck Skin Bill Rendezvous. He loved the “Rendezvous” and looked forward to the weeklong event every year. He shared this passion with his kids and grandkids.
One of his favorite hobbies was casting bullets. He made these for himself and would also sell them to others across the nation. He could be found during his free time in his back shop just “makin bullets”.
He had two little dogs, Petee and Sadie where they were his closest companions to the end.
With his love of black powder shooting, he organized and ran the State of Idaho and regional black powder shoots for over 15+ years.
Annually for over 30 years he would look forward to taking a break from black power and spend months organizing the Fort Boise Gun Show held in Boise. This would consist of taking reservations, organizing the help to pull off this event successfully year after year.
He was also an active member of the Middleton Auxiliary Club for the last 10+ years, where he worked as a vital member as the post 39’s historian.
He is survived by his children; Keith (Rita) Burr of Salt Lake City, UT, Bruce (Angie) Burr of Kuna, ID, Wayne (Shayne) Burr of Boise, ID, Carrie Warner of Salt Lake City, and Gloria (Ryan) Dearden of West Jordan, UT.
Grandchildren David Keith Burr, Brianna Michelle Domy, Adrianne Lynn Fernand, Brent Allen Burr, Nathan Wayne Burr, Scotland Joseph Burr, Zachary Reid Warner, Abigal Marie Warner, Marckus Anthony Ramirez, Marche Guadalupe Weffer, and Hunter John Dearden and 16 great grandchildren.
