Betty Joan Bruner

Betty J. Bruner, 80, of Boise, Idaho passed away at home on July 27th, 2018 surrounded by her loving family and caring friends. Born on April 26th, 1938 in Twin Falls, Idaho to John L. Pope (Dick) and Lola S. Kiser Pope, Betty graduated from Hagerman High School in 1956 and attended business college in Nampa, Idaho before going to work for the state's Brureau of Vital Statistics. In 1958, she married Carlton Edward Baker. They had one son together, Carlton Rodney Baker, and were later divorced. In 1962, Betty began working for Idaho Power, the company from which she eventually retired. On November 26th of 1971, Betty married William W. (Bill) Bruner in Murphy, Idaho. Bill passed away on August 16th, 1992. Betty practiced her faith as a member of the Hagerman Methodist Church congregation. She is survived by her son, C. Rodney and his wife Malori, grandson Dillon Baker, granddaughter Jordan Brown, and twin great-granddaughters, Mattie and Marlee Brown, grandchildren James and Mindy Moriarty, Hailey and Aaron Howard, Mari Holly and five step-grandchildren, Tanner Moriarty, Madison and Ryan Holly, Claire and Nora Howard, two sisters, Donna (Rick) Hoverson, Bonnie (Carl) Reiterman, two neices, Deborah Hoverson and Kathy Skidmore, one nephew, John Hoverson, and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband and parents. Funeral services are being held at Cloverdale Funeral Home at 11:00am on Saturday, August 25th, 2018. Graveside services will be at Canyon Hill Cemetery on Monday, August 27th at 1:00pm. Cemetery restrictions have resulted in the separation of services. A reception of food, drink, celebration and sharing will be held at the Shiloh Inn in Nampa, off the Franklin Rd. exit, immediately following the Saturday funeral services. All are invited to attend. Memorial contributions in Betty's honor may be made to the Hagerman Alumni Association.
