Betty Ione Russell

Betty Ione Russell, 84 of Meridian, Idaho passed away on Monday, August 27, 2018. Betty was born to Roderick and Edith (McLain) Lewis in Boise, ID on June 6, 1934. She feel in love with a military man, Donald Russell, who she was married to for 64 years before his passing in 2017. She supported Don throughout his Air Force Career. Betty and Don volunteered to give up most of the holidays to be at the rest areas and served coffee and cookies to travelers and truckers. She started working about the time Don retired from the Air Force. She retired from Burns Brother's Truck Stop as a Cook where she was loved by patrons and staff.

She graduated from Boise High School just like all 5 of her children. She loved quilting, sewing, needlepoint, drawing and all other crafts. Betty had a contagious laugh and a smile that everyone fell in love with.  She was the nurse, cook and teacher to her children and their friends. Betty was the Mother that would give her share of any meal for her kids. She was never in the PTA because she didn't like talking to groups of people. But she wouldn't hesitate to jump someone for disrespecting her family. Betty was a very loving and caring parent and worked hard at being the best mother she could be.
