Bonnie Kay Gorrell

Bonnie K. Gorrell, 81, of Boise, Idaho passed away Saturday, January 15, 2022, at home with her husband and daughter at her side.

Born in Peoria, IL, she was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Virginia (Spridco) Schlundt.

Bonnie graduated from Waukesha South High School, in Waukesha, WI. She was a teletype operator for the Waukesha Daily Freeman, Ft. Wayne Journal Gazette, and Anchorage Times. In 1978 she moved from Ft. Wayne, Indiana to Anchorage, Alaska and a few years later to Girdwood, Alaska.

Later in her career she became a real-estate agent for Marston Real Estate and Re/Max Dynamic Properties in Anchorage. She retired in 2012 and enjoyed her days outside tending to the yard during the summer months, and next to the warm fireplace during the winters. In 2020 she and Steven moved to Boise, Idaho to be closer to their daughter.

She is survived by her husband, Steven Gorrell; a sister, Ginny (Buzz) Schneider of Bartonville, IL; three children, Michael Swisher of Anchorage, Alaska, Kristin (Tom) Alvarez of Boise, Idaho, and Eric (Denise) Gorrell of Tualatin, Oregon; as well as her grandchildren, Alyssa (Ray) Vinson, Rick (Lisa-Ray) Lemieux, and Charlotte and Felix Gorrell.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Arc of Anchorage at 2211 Arca Dr, Anchorage, AK 99508-3462.
