Carmen Frances Hust

November 18, 1921 ~ June 2, 2018 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Tribute

Our very kind, loving and beautiful mother, Carmen Hust, passed away peacefully and into the arms of our Heavenly Father on June 2, 2018. Carmen is now united with her husband, Doug, of 68 years, who has been waiting 7 long years for her to join him!
Carmen was born on November 18, 1921 to Frank and Ora Belle Houston in Central Point, Oregon. She was the eldest of two daughters. She grew up in Phoenix, Oregon graduating with honors at age 16 from Phoenix High School. Following high school, she worked at Harry and David/Bear Creek Orchards in Medford, Oregon as a secretary.
In 1942, Carmen married a fun loving Christian man, Doug Hust. They were blessed with three children; Sue, Judy and Frank.
Carmen, Doug and kids enjoyed camping trips to many national parks and then a decision was made to purchase a cabin in McCall, Idaho. The cabin was a place of many family celebrations and memories galore for almost 30 years.
Carmen enjoyed years of bowling with Doug and in a women’s bowling league. Many friendships and fond memories were formed.
Years of involvement were spent in CWF (Christian Women’s Fellowship) at University Christian Church. Carmen helped with many dinners and receptions and was always cooking and baking for someone in need in her church family. She attended weekly Bible studies and was a deaconess all her adult life. She treasured all her church family that she and Doug grew to love. Carmen received much joy in teaching 3rd grade Sunday school for almost 25 years. She was a very compassionate, thoughtful and giving lady all of her life. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Some of her favorite treats in life were outfits with matching shoes, purses, hats and jewelry. She needed to look good for JCPenney conventions with Doug and, of course, Christmas and Easter! Carmen LOVED her chocolates and enjoyed sharing with all who would visit.
A special thanks to The Cottages of Boise for their tender and loving care of Carmen for 2 plus years. A big thank you to Nicole, Sarah, Carla, Karina and Jeffery for their compassionate care.
Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, in 2011. Her reunion with him will be of great joy in heaven. Carmen is survived by her daughter, Sue Snyder (Jerry Ransom), daughter Judy (Bill) Lee and son, Frank.
Her grandchildren include Doug (Amy) Snyder, Julie (Brent) Cooper, Angie Lee (Scott Asin), and Lisa (Cable) Rhodes. Great-grandchildren include Taylor and Brooke Snyder, Brandon and Emily Cooper, and Carson and Anna Rhodes. Carmen also leaves behind her sister, Gloria Bannister, of Salem, Oregon and brother-n-law Bill Hust and wife Joan of Central Point, Oregon and numerous nieces, a nephew and friends whom she loved dearly.

There will be a celebration of Carmen’s life at 10:00am, Friday, June 8, 2018 at Cloverdale Funeral Home located at 1200 N. Cloverdale Road, Boise, Idaho. A reception will follow the services.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations, made in Carmen’s memory, to Parkview Christian Church in Meridian, Idaho or Hope House in Marsing, Idaho.

Heaven has gained a new angel and she is at home with Doug. Carmen will be missed, but not forgotten.
