Tribute

Carol Ann Peterson passed away in November 2022, in her home, at the age of 81. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho on October 30, 1941 to George and Theda Crotts and was raised with a sister and best friend, Renae Mortensen and a brother George Crotts Jr., whom she adored. She enjoyed a childhood with close extended family and grew to value family bonds deeply.

In December of 1960 Carol married Edmond Russell Peterson and made it her goal to ensure that they always had a “home”, not just a house. Together they built many life-long friendships and enjoyed spending time with friends on the golf course, dining at the Country Club and traveling for Ed’s work. Ed and Carol started their own family with 2 sons, Eric Peterson and Andrew “Russ” Peterson and later welcomed 4 grandchildren. Carol and Ed enjoyed the delight of family surrounding them and passed that value on to their children and grandchildren. They were married for 51 years when Ed passed away and Carol became the independent woman we knew and loved in those last years.

Carol was well known as having an eye for detail...often being teasingly referred to as “one of the Martha Stewarts” (her sister being the other). She loved magazines and the world of beautiful things she could explore in them, be it clothing, furniture, gardening, cooking or decorating. Her home was always impeccably decorated and often ahead of it’s time in trends. She loved collecting beautiful pictures and miniatures to add just the right touch to any room. She was also creative, in her earlier years exploring painting, knitting and cross stitch.

Carol was a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter and grandmother who constantly worried over those she loved, even to the end. She wanted the world to be a beautiful place and did all she could to make it that way. For this she is loved and greatly missed.
