Tribute

On October 5, 2021, Carole Joanne Hayne, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away in Meridian, Idaho at the age of 80.
Carole was born on January 5, 1941 in Lewiston, Idaho to Mildred and Charles Taylor, the second of six children. Carole grew up on a ranch near Nezperce. Days were spent bailing hay, driving grain trucks, milking cows, and getting into shenanigans with her siblings. She told stories of the hard work, but also the fun, involved growing up on a ranch.  Carole explained that she and her sisters would wear dresses under their coveralls so if they had any visitors, they could quickly remove their coveralls and look presentable.  Carole had fond memories of her days at Nezperce High School, where she played the clarinet in the band and was a cheerleader. She graduated in 1960.
After graduating, Carole lived in the North Central Idaho area, Spokane, Washington, and Portland, Oregon, before settling in Clarkston, Washington. She was blessed with three children, Scott, Shelly, and Shannon from her first marriage. Carole worked hard raising her children, working full time, and attending Lewis-Clark State College.  She was a business partner for C & C Electronics, worked at Baker Trucking, and worked at Idaho North Central District Health.
In 1976 she met Gary Hayne on a blind date when he was on a business trip from Boise. Gary also had three children from a previous marriage, Mary, Catherine, and Julie. Carole and Gary married in 1977 and Carole and the kids moved to Boise. A year later, she and Gary were again blessed with their seventh child, Cara. Carole worked at East Junior High, then at Lake Hazel Elementary until retiring in 2004.
Carole loved traveling and experiencing new surroundings. Exploring the countries of Europe was one of her favorite adventures.  Summers were spent camping, visiting family, and annual trips to the Oregon Coast. Carole had a strong, independent spirit. She loved deeply with all her heart and cared for her family above all else.  She enjoyed cooking and hosting family meals.  Her family will miss her beyond measure.
Carole was preceded in death by her husband Gary Hayne, parents Charles and Mildred Taylor, and sister Charlene Taylor. She is survived by her children Scott (Abbie) Tiede, Shelly Sanford, Shannon (Neal) Forrester, Mary Hayne, Catherine (Jeff) Jarriel, Julie Hayne, and Cara (Lee) Rubel, her siblings Garry (Dawn) Taylor, Lorretta (Joy) Esser, David Taylor, and Mary Rose Fuller, as well as 11 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
