Clara-Jo Pearl Jones

Clara-Jo Jones, 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, and greeted her Savior Jesus Christ with that sweet, cheerful smile she gave to everyone she knew and met.
Clara-Jo was born in Nampa, Idaho to Mary and Clayton Hartz. She spent her early years in Meridian, Idaho with her parents, and two brothers, Sam and Clay Hartz. She graduated from Camas County High School. While in school, she met and fell in love with her future husband, Wayne (Pat) Jones. They enjoyed 56 wonderful years of marriage prior to his passing in 2010.
During their marriage, they resided in Washington, Mississippi, California and spent retirement years back home in Idaho. After raising six children, Clara-Jo worked part time as a teacher’s aide and retired in 1994 from the San Jose Unified School District after 19 dedicated years.
Clara-Jo loved gathering with her family and friends. She would always say she loved being a mom and grandma most. Through the years, she enjoyed sewing – making many of her children’s clothes, ensuring a home-cooked meal every evening, listening to and singing along with 70’s and 80’s pop music, watching NFL football, ice skating, and tennis, coffee outings, crocheting, and watching old western TV shows. The highlight of Clara’s travels were her three vacations to Hawaii with Pat and good friends. She was a thoughtful, smart, and fun woman.
Clara-Jo was a loved and cherished Mom by her children and their spouses; Sheree and Richard Allen, Theresa Jones, Mary and Mike Kleffner, Patrick and Soraya Jones, Angie Labrado, and Jennifer Jones. She was Grandma to Jason, Colin, Steve, Rene, Daniella, Brandon, Robert, and Tara, and Great-Grandma to Chase, Devan, Michael, Kailea, and Donovan. She also leaves behind beloved nephews and nieces.
Her husband Pat, her parents, brother Sam, grandson Colin, nephew Sam, and niece Molly preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held at Cloverdale Funeral Home on Saturday June 29th at 11am with a reception to follow. Clara-Jo’s immediate family will attend her interment at Cloverdale Cemetery as she is placed beside Pat. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Boise Rescue Mission Ministries, Clara-Jo’s favorite charitable organization. Arrangements are under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise.
