Cloris Lorainne Moore

Cloris Lorainne Rice Moore passed away Sunday, April 4, 2021 at age 91. Born in Gallipolis, Ohio to Elery and Marie Rice, she grew up in West Virginia, New York City, Athens, Ohio and Cincinnati, Ohio. She graduated with honors from Ohio University with a degree in home economics
She met her future husband Wilson (Bill) Moore, in Bellefontaine Ohio when he was stationed at Bellefontaine Air Force Base. They were married just 8 months later. They were absolutely devoted each other for the next 67 years. They had 2 girls, Michelle and Melodie. Bill, the girls, her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were center of her life.
After Bill retired from the Air Force, they moved to a farm in Minnesota. Moving to Idaho to be closer to their daughters, they spent several summers living in Yellowstone National Park where Bill worked as a park ranger, and later settled on a small farm outside of Thatcher, Idaho. The moved to Boise, Idaho a few years ago to live closer to their daughter.
Cloris taught school for almost 40 years. She was named teacher of the year multiple times.
Bill and Cloris joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1966 and were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Cloris gave her all in her church service in the Relief Society, Primary, Young Women’s and seminary in and was teaching Sunday School until she was 88.
Cloris is survived by her husband Bill, her two daughters Michelle (Gary) Glasgow and Melodie (Michael) LeFevre, 7 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, 8 nieces and nephews.
