Tribute

Clyde L. Kinney was born on June 12th, 1930 to Paul and Hilda Trout in Clayton, New Mexico.  Soon thereafter, the family relocated to La Vern, Oklahoma, where Clyde was raised.  In 1946, he moved to the Canyon County area of Idaho, where he resided until his passing.

Clyde was drafted into the Army and served in the Korean War, where he was recognized for his marksmanship.  After his service to our country, he began working for Terry’s Home Furnishings, where he eventually became a full partner in the business.  His love of sales and passion for business inspired Clyde to open a “Mom-n-Pop” store in Clayton, Idaho.  After selling this business, he enjoyed many sales endeavors until finding a professional home with the NFIB (National Federation of Independent Business), where he excelled consistently for 10 years before retirement.

He was a great husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all who know him.  Clyde will be remembered for his humorous stories about his family, his professional career, his love of hunting, and his trips to Jackpot to play the odds and press his luck.

Clyde is survived by his wife Claudette “Cody”, his children Debra Miller, Brenda Kinney, Ron Kinney and wife Addie, Donald Kinney, step children Brenda Wilder and husband Tim, Ed and Steve Stocks, and many grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  He is loved and missed dearly, and all his family and friends hope he keeps the laughter coming from heaven as he did for them over his years on earth.

There are no funeral services currently planned, but a memorial service will be held for Clyde at a later date.
