Corlene "Corky" Walker

Corky, 86, of Nampa, Idaho, passed away in the early morning hours of June 7th, 2018. The viewing will be held 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 14th at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 15th, 2018 at Cloverdale Funeral Home with burial at Cloverdale Memorial Park, and a reception to follow at the Cloverdale Reception Center.

Corky was born January 31, 1932 to George “Shorty” Noble and Grace Slusser Noble. She was a Northside Nampa girl who married Ivan Dee Huss at the age of 16; having two children, daughter Ivalee and son Lynn. Later she married Chuck Orcutt and had her second son, Ben. She always worked outside the home – Toot n’ Tell, Fashion City, Albertson’s Bakery, Statewide snack bar, Lloyd’s Country Store, and ended with being a dental assistant for Dr. Ilin. She was a lifetime member of St. Al’s Auxiliary as a “pink lady.”

She met the love of her life when she crossed paths with Al Walker of Walker & Fox Masonry. They married September 18, 1970 and were happily married for 39 years.

Mom was good at any athletic endeavor she pursued whether it was bowling, horseback riding, as a Snake River Stampede Queen contestant, or golfing in tournaments. She and Al enjoyed a large circle of exceptionally good friends as a result of their golfing, both here in Treasure Valley and in Mesa, Arizona where they went as snowbirds each winter.

Mom lost part of her heart and spirit with Al’s passing nine years ago. Now she is dancing with him again among the stars and we are so happy for her.

Corky was greatly loved by her family and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her and Al’s children; daughters, Ivalee Huss (Don Johnson) of Meridian, ID, Cathy (Larry) Raganit of Caldwell, ID, and Vicki (Hal) Coultier of Boise, ID; sons, Lynn (Robin) Huss of Caldwell, ID and Ben Orcutt of Middleton, ID; and a whole bunch of grandchildren and great grandchildren who were so lucky to have her as their Grandma Corky.

Corky was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and dance partner, Al, her brother-in-law, Howard Moore, her daughter-in-law, LeeAnn Orcutt, her “baby sister” Ellen Moore, great granddaughter, Kim, and great grandson, Colton.

A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Reddy and nurses Lynne, Bryson, Colson, Nick, and Matt at St. Al’s on Garrity for their compassion for our mom during her three day stay.
