Craig Brian Marcus

May 30, 1939 ~ April 8, 2024 (age 84) 84 Years Old

Tribute

Craig Brian Marcus 84, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2024, reuniting with Lynne. His beloved wife of 62 years, Lynne Merryweather Marcus, died in 2024 and Craig spent the past year and a half wondering what Lynne was doing. They were a couple of strong Christian faith, and he was looking forward to joining her. He was surrounded by his children and brother.
Craig was born on May 30, 1939, in Boise, Idaho to Claude and Marie Marcus. He was soon joined by his brother, Barry and a second brother, Kent. The family lived first in Idaho City and then moved to Boise, Idaho. Craig went to Central Elementary, South Junior High, and Boise High School. Craig was president of his Senior Class.
After graduating Craig attended Boise Junior College, University of Pennsylvania, Mexico City College, and was planning to attend Hawaii next. However, a pretty little brunette changed his plans. Craig met Lynne at Mexico City College in 1959 and the following year, September 3, 1960, they were married in Silver Lake, Ohio. Their honeymoon consisted of traveling across the country to Boise, Idaho. Lynne was very excited to see Mountain Home, envisioning a beautiful mountain village. Craig drove her through that area at night.
Craig decided it was time to settle down, quit traveling around, and get to work earning his Law degree from University of Idaho. They would spend the school years in Moscow and the summers in Boise. Craig was a wildland firefighter in the summers. September 24, 1961, they welcomed their daughter Shawn. September 3, 1963, during the Bar Exam, they welcomed their son Brian, and on December 1, 1966, they welcomed their last child, Trent.
The following years were spent fishing, hunting, trap shooting, wandering around the desert on the Oregon Trail, weekends in McCall in the summer, winter days skiing, and every summer a vacation to the Oregon, Washington, or British Columbia coast for salmon fishing. Family was everything and did everything together. Craig & Lynne were able to travel to Mexico, Alaska, Peru, and England. Craig cherished the wonderful world that God created.
Craig witnessed the joyous marriages of Shawn & Joel, Brian & Diana, and Trent & Anne. They were blessed with six grandchildren: Abigail, Anna, Christian and Benjamin Moak, and Conor and Megan Marcus. Craig and Lynne suffered the loss of Brian in 2019. They danced together at the weddings of Abby & Tim, Anna & Adam, Christian & Haley, Connor & Megan. They rejoiced together at the birth of their first great-grandchild, Sydney. Lynne left to be with the Lord before the weddings of Conor & Lauren and Benjamin & Meagan.
In the time since Lynne passed Craig has had the privilege of welcoming more great-grandchildren. Babies Hazel, Bo, Maeve, and Eden. Craig cherished all six of his great-grandchildren. Family and friends were very important to Craig and his greatest joy and wish is that all come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior.
