Daniel Buckley

Tribute

Daniel John Buckley, resident of Meridian, ID, formerly of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on December 1, 2018 in Meridian, ID, at the age of 79 years.
Born in Cincinnati, OH, Dan was a graduate of Roger Bacon High School (1957). He attended Xavier University before enlisting in the U.S. Army. After his military service he began his career at Beckman Instruments, Inc. where he worked until retirement.
Dan was an accomplished photographer and loved all things related to nature. While living in Northern Illinois, he helped restore the Lake in the Hills fen, a wetland with threatened and endangered native grasses and flowers. He joined others there in monitoring the butterflies and birds of the fen. Needless to say, Dan has left us with many beautiful photographs of not only the fen plants and animals but also his many trips to the Pacific Northwest, Idaho and Kenya.
Dan loved all types of music, had a beautiful voice and enjoyed singing opera music.
Dan is survived by his wife Nancy (nee Streed) and three children Laura, Lisa (Don Walder), and David from his first marriage, and step-son Jeffrey (Andrea) Ganahl. He is also survived by his mother Georgiana and his siblings James (Georgann), Bruce (Patricia), Sharon Denny, and Brian (Donna), along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his father Harry Buckley, his sister Patricia Lipka, and his grandson Johnathon Treigh Buckley.
A celebration of Dan’s life will be held in the future.
Those wishing to commemorate Dan’s life may make donations to the National Alzheimer’s Association or the charity of their choice.
