Darlene Mae Preslar 1937 ~ 2021

Darlene Mae Preslar ~ a loving mother, a mentor to many, and friend to all died January 2, 2021 at her home in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by her loving daughter's Lynn and Wendy. She was 83.

Darlene was born on April 30 in Stockton, California. She graduated from Payette High School and studied Music and Drama at the University of the Pacific where she received her Associates degree.

Darlene is survived by her 4 children, Lynn, Wendy, Rebecca, and the last one wishes to remain nameless; her brother's Tim and Mark; her sister's Cindy, Carlynn and Debbie; her 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; her best friend and golf partner Kenny Schmidt. She is predeceased by her loving husband Lonnie, son Mitchell, sister Sharon,and her mother Mavis, fathers Pete and Louis.

Besides spending time with her family and friends, Darlene had a passion for traveling, golf and attending BSU sporting events. Taking caring of her beautiful dog Toots brought laughter and adventure into her life. Darlene had a kindred spirit and touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life. She believed joy lives in your heart and life is what you make of it, so live a happy life.

Darlene will be remembered for her kindness endearing stories and her wonderful sense of humor. A smile that could light up a room and her generosity and willingness to help a friend in time of need.

In her later years, her softness and words of wisdom brought joy and peace in all our lives.She taught us patience and allowed us to show her a small measure of the service she had long shown all of us.

Her memory will be cherished and kept alive by her adoring children, sister's, brother's, grandchildren great-grandchildren and friends.

The family would like to express our thanks for the wonderful help and care given by Hospice of Boise, Idaho and her dear friends that helped support her through this time of need. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, in which lots of Hugs will be welcomed.

"Mom," you are the voice in our heads, the love in our hearts. You are the wisdom in our dreams and the inspiration in our lives.
