Dave Norris

Dave Norris, 74, passed in Boise, Idaho on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, at Saint Alphonsus Hospital.
Dave was born November 17, 1948 in Portland, Oregon to John and Margaret Norris. He was their firstborn son, and the younger brother of Peg Woodworth and the older brother of Ruth Norris and Jack Norris. In 1961, Dave and his family moved to Boise, Idaho, where he attended West Junior High School. He then went on to Borah High School before transferring to Capital High School in his senior year, where he graduated as part of the class of 1966. While in high school, he met Dianne Simons, whom he would marry in 1969. During their fifteen-year marriage, they had two children, Jason (born in 1972) and Michael (born in 1974). With his sons, he enjoyed skiing, fishing, listening to music, attending horse races, cooking, and frequenting the Boise restaurants.
Dave attended college at Boise State University. In 1972, he graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in accounting. Shortly thereafter he took the Certified Public Accountant exam and took pride in passing on the first try. He then went on to work as a tax accountant at Boise Cascade Co., where he spent his entire career. While at Boise Cascade, he met Ann Brassey. They would eventually marry in 1989. They enjoyed attending and tailgating at Boise State football games, traveling down the California coast and visiting the local wineries, and attending jazz festivals across the West. They also enjoyed taking their grandchildren to the Boise Zoo and Boise Hawks baseball games, and they loved to watch the fireworks and play with their grandchildren on their back deck, facing the golf course.
Dave was preceded in death by his beloved wife of thirty-two years, Annie. He is survived by his son Jason (Kristie) and his children Madeline and Abby of Portland, Oregon, and by his son Mike (Becky) and his children Ian, Alex, Jake, and Gwen of Boise, Idaho.
