Deborah Ann Atkeson

Deborah Ann Atkeson was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother (“Nonna”) and friend. She passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2023, at age 67. She was surrounded by family and friends.

Deborah was born to Floyd and Betty Miles on December 25, 1955, and grew up in Fruitland, Idaho. Shortly thereafter, she started a family of three daughters: Heather, Amy, and Summer. She was a wonderful mother who was always present and supportive of her girls when they needed her.

Deborah’s diligence and tenacity served her well while working two jobs simultaneously and earning a degree through Boise State University in Early Childhood Education. Her dream was to own and operate a daycare, such was the intensity of her love for children. Life steered her onto a different path, however, and she became very successful in her future careers both at Zilog and, later, as a Medical Coder/Biller.

Deborah enjoyed sewing in her spare time, making clothing for her daughters, and mending her grandchildren’s blankets and fuzzy friends. She loved spending time in the kitchen, cooking for her family and sharing recipes with loved ones. “Nonna” also enjoyed teaching her children and grandchildren to cook and bake, and most importantly to appreciate an ice-cold Coca-Cola while at work in the kitchen. One of Deborah’s dreams was to visit Italy, and she was given the opportunity to live in Tuscany with her oldest daughter’s family for two years and be present for the birth of her first grandchild.

More than anything, Deborah was dedicated to her family, surrounding herself by those she loved. Regardless of what she was doing or where she was in life, she always put everything she had, including her heart and soul, into her family.

Deborah was survived by her mother, Betty; daughters, Heather, Amy and Summer; and grandchildren, Caden, Ethan, Isabella, Colt, Kiel, and Ashlynn. A funeral service, followed by reception, is scheduled for 2 pm on March 16, 2023 at Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho.
