Share Tribute:

Dennis B. Bowen passed away on Tuesday, May 23rd, 2017 surrounded by his family at St. Al’s hospital in Boise, Idaho. Dennis was born, the youngest of four boys, in Salt Lake City, Utah to William Edward and Sara Jane (Yeiter) Bowen. Dennis worked his way up in the printing business from a pressman to a senior executive.  He moved several times as his career advanced from Idaho, to California, to Nevada but the road always led back to Boise where he put down deep roots and developed lifelong friendships over the past 30 years.  Dennis loved fishing, hunting and camping.  He passed along his love of the outdoors down to his three children. Over the past couple of years, he and his daughter traveled to Homer and Seward Alaska to fish for halibut and to South Dakota to hunt Pheasant.  He also loved sports. As a devoted Dodgers fan, he flew to Georgia to take his son, Brian and his two grandchildren (Joshua and Megan) to a Dodgers/Braves baseball game.

He leaves behind his brother, Jack James Bowen (Irene Bowen), his daughter, Michelle Bowen Mehler (Paul Mehler III) and his son, Brian Kent Bowen (Heather Bowen), his five grandchildren, Taylor Fitzpatrick (Jason Fitzpatrick), Dennis B. Bowen, Joshua Bowen, Kadie Bowen and Megan Bowen and his two great grandchildren Kyle & Alexis Fitzpatrick.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Bruce Bowen and William E. Bowen Jr. and his son Dennis Anthony (Tony) Bowen.  A graveside service will be held in Salt Lake City mid-October.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff in the Cardiac ICU and ICU at St. Alphonso’s Hospital for taking such great care of Dennis.  We can’t thank you enough for the care you provided and we deeply appreciate the kindness shown to Dennis and our family during this most difficult time.

Dennis was a loving son, brother, uncle, father, grandfather and friend.  He was so loved by everyone that knew him and will be deeply missed.

Please join us on Monday, July 10th at 3:00 PM ET at Sam’s Place located at 3395 N Five Mile Rd, Boise, ID 83713 for a Celebration of Life.
