Destin Drew Frank, USN E5, age 22, passed away in St. Mary's, GA on September 23, 2017, where he lived with his beautiful wife, Lizzie.

He was the first born to Jonathan and Bridget Frank on February 28th, 1995 in Boise, ID. He went to Longfellow Elementary, North Jr. High, and Boise High School, graduating in 2013. He grew up in Boise with his younger brother Chance (21) and little sister Brianna (10) and pets, including his cats and beloved dog, CharChar.

He was involved in sports all his life with pole vaulting, running, lifting weights, and more. Fitness was very important to him. He loved working at Blue Circle Sports helping at running events. He also worked at Roaring Springs as a Life Guard before he enlisted in the Navy.

Destin loved hanging with his friends (Cooper, Sam, and Eric to name a few) and Chance. They played video games and enjoyed life outdoors. He owned a few cars but he LOVED riding his motorcycle that his uncle taught him how to maintain. He eventually bought a Harley and loved traveling to see Lizzie when miles separated them while they dated. He was on base and she was attending law school.

He was a brilliant kid that read at a young age from topics of history, military, and enjoyed Harry Potter and Tolkien series books thanks to his dad.  He had a deep passion of Germany, taking German in high school, listening to Rammstein, his favorite German Band.  His plan was to visit Germany with his wife and see what he heard about and learned over the years from his dad's family that was stationed while his grandfather was in the Air Force.

Destin was musically inclined. Both he and his brother took private violin lessons very young then he moved on to clarinet in Jr. High. Later on, he spent hours recreating complex layered songs on his computer program through only self-taught knowledge.

He loved art but especially drawing in his spare time which came natural to him, just like his grandmother. He would easily sketch pictures of people and flowers. His talent led him to design his very own tatoo.

The US Navy recognized Destin's intelligence and strength leading the recruiters to push for the Nuke program. The school was on the east coast where he fortunately met Lizzie in 2014 and married her 2 years to the day on June 29th, 2016. He switched career paths along the way but still held on to serving on a submarine.

He strived to be the best in everything he did. He is our HERO and his duty serving on the USS Wyoming - SSBN 742 Gold Fleet is done. He will carry on a NEW legacy to protect his wife, family and service members. His heart will always be with Lizzie where she lives but Idaho is home.

Destin is preceded in death by both his grandfathers, Mitch Frank and Tom Mills. He is survived by his wife Elizabeth Walters Frank, her parents Patricia & Daniel Walters, and siblings Rebecca, Sarah, Daniel, Jacob, and Robert. Destin is also survived by his parents Jonathan & Bridget, brother Chance, sister Brianna, his grandparents Kayleen Frank and Loretta Ellis, and his aunts & uncles Addi & Paul Rundell, Emily Mitchell, Elli Frank and Tim & Dee Mills, including his cousins, and both his and wife's extended family.
