Dorcylaine Thomas

Dorcylaine joined the lord on Monday, October 5, 2020. Dorcy was born October 31, 1923 to Sam and Jeanette Stein in Prineville, Oregon. Dorcy was one of the first women to join the Navy during WW2 as a chaplain's assistant. After her stint in the service she married and had two children that union ended in divorce. Dorcy met any married Gerald Earl Thomas Sr., her lifelong soul mate, on May 23, 1959. Gerald adopted her two sons and treated them as his own. Gerald and Dorcy made their home throughout California settling in Salinas, California. They pastored churches until their retirement where they chose Yuma, Arizona as their retirement home. Gerald lost his battle with cancer January 5, 2015 which left Dorcy alone where she stayed in Yuma. Her caregiver/friend Barbara Love moved in so Dorcy could continue living in Yuma. When Dorcy required 24 hour care, her son moved her to his home in Idaho where she lived until her death.

Dorcy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Geri Marcot, and a grandson Gerald Earl (Corky) Thomas III. She is survived by her sons Rodney L. Thomas and Pat Thomas of Stockton, Missouri and son Gerald E. Thomas Jr. (wife Deb) of Boise, Idaho, as well as numerous grandchildren, great, and great great grandchildren. She will be making one final trip to Yuma, Arizona to be buried next to her husband. We will hold a virtual funeral in a couple of weeks, please let the family know if you would like an invite.
