Dorotha Carlson of Meridian, Idaho went to meet her Lord on September 2, 2020 just one day before her 99th birthday. Dorotha was born in Roswell, Idaho on September 3, 1921 to Vern and Marth Wall.
As a small child her family moved to a farm on Star Road. She graduated from Nampa High School in 1939.
On June 1, 1940 she married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Art Carlson. To this union two children were born, Jeanette and Richard (Dick). They farmed for many years after Art returned from service during World War II.
Her family and church were always very special to her. In later years her eyesight was very poor but the Pastor at the assisted living facility often mentioned that she did not need a song book because she already knew all the words.
Art entered Heaven on January 6, 2015. She is survived by their children Jeanette Ward-Geddes (Dave) of Nampa and Dick Carlson (Sandy) of Meridian. She is also survived by grandchildren Terry Ward (Nicole), Doug Ward (Laura), Brad Ward (Stacy), Andrea Carlson Harris (Jon). Also surviving are great grandchildren Niki Ward, Brett Ward, Luke Ward, Paige Harris and Abby Harris. She was preceded in death by siblings Geraldine, Hazel, and Harold. Her sister Velma survives her and lives in California.
A viewing will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, Idaho. A private family service will be held for Dorotha.
