Tribute

Edith (Stuerke) Searcy died in peaceful sleep in her home in Boise, Idaho on March 13, 2019.  She read her bible daily and was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed playing card games, planning events with her friends, shopping, lots of reading and going to church. She loved to bring broccoli salad to potluck for her friends and cooking her family some of their favorite foods. She loved collecting bells, butterflies and she was a huge Kansas City Chief and Boise State University fan. Although, she was mobility limited she would smile through her pain and helped others. She was someone who stayed in contact with family members. She loved her sons and family very much.
Born Nov. 26, 1936 at Corder, MO to Edwin and Velma (Rooks) Stuerke.  She grew up on the family farm and like to talk about those were the days. She attended Hazel Dell elementary school in rural Higginsville, MO. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran church in Higginsville. In 1959, Edith married Donald Searcy. She loved to talk about their honeymoon motorcyle ride to their favorite places. They moved to Hawaii and later to California where she raised her three sons and received an Associate Degree of Art at Barstow Community College.
She is survived by her sons...Dean Searcy, Mishele, Twin Falls Idaho, Edwin (Eddie) Pamela Searcy of Indianapolis Indiana and Jeff Diana Searcy of Boise Idaho, a sister Sylvia Wilson at Higginsville Missouri, 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
