Edward Taylor Dayton Jr
May 4, 1930 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 87) 87 Years OldEdward Taylor Dayton Jr., 87, of Eagle, ID, passed away on January 5th, 2018. “Eddie” Dayton, son of Edward and Florence Dayton and devoted husband of Leona Grace Dayton, passed peacefully in his sleep on January 5th at his home.
Eddie was born in Boise, Idaho, and grew up as a cowboy on a ranch in the Owyhee Mountains. He owned a wheel alignment shop in Boise, and retired as a custodian for the Boise School District. Eddie was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and greatly enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing with his family. He was preceded in death by his sisters Edna Carter and Dellamae Simpson, his wife Leona, and his daughter Christy Dayton. He is survived and will be greatly missed by his daughters Cindy (Randy) Goodall and Terri (Bob) Thornton, his grandchildren Eddie Nickerson, Wade Tatman, Michael Tatman, Zac Mathews, Eric Tatman, Luke Mathews, Callie Mathews, and Sam Thornton, 10 great-grandchildren, 4 nieces, and his nephew Bart Simpson, along with many others whose life he touched. Services will be held on Saturday, January 13th, at the Cloverdale Funeral Home at 11 a.m. We would like to add a heartfelt thank you to St. Alphonsus Hospice for the care they provided to our father.
