Eileen Allison

Eileen Allison, 100 years old, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 surrounded by her family at home in Meridian, Idaho, due to heart failure.

Eileen was born on September 19, 1921 in White City, Kansas at home. After graduating from high school in 1940, she married Jim Allison, a young man she met when she was 14 years old while he was working on her uncle’s farm. They were married in 1941 in White City, Kansas. Shortly thereafter they moved to Boise in 19421 for a short while, then to Eagle in 1943, then back to Boise before settling down in Meridian in the home Jim built for them. To this union came a daughter, Jeannie, on September 1, 1942. Eileen worked at a local dry cleaners as a cashier and a seamstress, doing this until her 80s. After leaving there, she continues to do sewing for others until early this year.

Eileen loved to bake and garden. She became a master gardener and went on to be certified as a judge. Mom has judged flower shows in Portland, Twin Falls, the Western Idaho Fair, the Canyon County Fair, as well as in several other states. Last year was her last year at the Western Idaho Fair judging in the flower and plant department. She had 50 amazing years of service.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; great great grandson, Robbie Lumpkin; parents, Will and Edna Colson; her sister, Irene; and brothers, Glen, Junior, Howard, and Calvin. She is survived by her daughter, Jeannie (Bob) Steele; granddaughter, Tina (Daryl) Lumpkin; grandson, David (Christy) Steele; grandchildren, Rusty (Angie) Lumpkin, Robbie (Tori) Steele, Tom Lumpkin, and Charlie Nutt; great great grandchildren, Gage, Gracie, and Galena Steele, Khloe and Aubree Lumpkin; Jewell and Dylan Lumpkin, and Madison Nutt.

A viewing will be held on Monday, August 15th from 5-7pm at Cloverdale Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Tuesday the 16th at the funeral home with a viewing one hour prior at 9am. Graveside services will follow at Terrace Lawn Memorial Gardens with a reception to follow at the Cloverdale Event Center at 11:30-1:30pm.

The family would like to thank Horizon Home Health staff for the amazing care they gave Eileen. A big thank you to Chaplain Tom Cizmar, Vaughn, and Peggy, plus all the other nurses who came out to see her and take care of the whole family. Horizon Health gave the family very good services during the last few months of Eileen’s time.
