Eric Lewis Clark

June 9, 1966 ~ June 17, 2021 (age 55) 55 Years Old

Tribute

Eric Lewis Clark, 55, of Meridian, ID, passed away on June 17, 2021, at his home, in the presence of loved ones.

A celebration of his life will be held from 4:00 pm to 7:00pm on Saturday, July the 10th at Kleiner Park in Meridian ID. All family and friends are welcome to attend.

Eric was born on June the 9th, 1966. His parents, Patrick L and Carolynn M Clark, raised him in Garden City, ID. Growing up, he attended Whittier Elementary, Hillside Jr High, and in 1984, he graduated from Capital High School.  After earning his diploma, Eric enlisted in the Army. He completed his Advanced Individual Training at Fort Bragg, NC. Upon his return from the service, he found various positions of employment, ultimately culminating in a 25-year long career with Walmart.  There, he wore many hats, from tire technician to manager. During his career, he met many people with whom he remained life-long friends. With his unique, dry sense of humor, Eric was a favorite of many.  Most who fell victim to his chiding knew that beneath that bluster, lay a truly kind, endearing, and good-natured person.

Eric was mechanically inclined, especially when it came to cars. He enjoyed watching and participating in drag races, and once undertook the complete restoration of a 1972 Nova. After countless hours, and at great expense, this car finally evolved into Eric’s vision, and it gave him great pleasure to drive it.  Eric also had an affinity for music, new and old. His collection was wide and growing. Golf was another passion, as was watching and discussing the sport of football.

All who knew Eric no doubt appreciated and admired his ability to maintain his sense of humor, alongside his stoic resilience, even as he dealt with the curveballs that life threw at him. While he battled cancer, he still found laughter, and the energy to poke fun at himself and those around him.  He will be remembered for his wit, his character, and above all his ability to always find (and point out) the irony in any situation.

Eric was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by the many friends and family members that survive him, including Pinkus and Sam, his beloved cats. We will all mourn the loss of his presence but will find comfort in the legacy of memories his unforgettable spirit has left behind. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation in Eric’s memory to your favorite charity.
