Eugene George Bernard

Eugene George Bernard “Gene”, age 80 of Boise, Idaho. Gene was born on August 18, 1939 to Harry and Majorie Bernard in Parma, Idaho. Gene graduated from Parma High School in 1958. When in High School Gene was Vice President and was on the football and basketball team. Gene met the love of his life at Parma High. Gene was married to Esther Elizabeth Johnson on September 15, 1961. Gene and Esther had 2 daughters and 1 son. After Gene and Esther were married they moved to Boise. Gene worked for Opal Harvester before he started his career at Yanke Machine Shop in 1972. Gene retired from Yanke Machine Shop in 2004.
   Gene enjoyed working on racecars and being at the race track, snowmobiling, camping, but most importantly watching his 4 grandchildren play the sports they participated in. The last couple of months he loved watching his 3 great granddaughters.
   Gene is survived by his wife of 58 years, Esther Bernard (Boise), daughter Kim Alverson (John) Caldwell, son Ron Bernard (Wendy) Boise, daughter Denise Macaluso Kuna, granddaughter Dawn Alverson (Rob) Middleton, grandson Steven Alverson (Alexis) Meridian, granddaughters Nicole Macaluso Lacey, Washington, and Mikayla Macaluso Pocatello, Idaho. Great granddaughters Miranda Hahn, Lillie Alverson, and Logan Alverson and many other family members.
   Gene is proceeded in death by his father Harry Bernard, mother Majorie Bernard and sister Harriett Jacques.
