Eugene Netzley Michael Jr.

Eugene N. Michael, Jr, 86 of Nampa, ID passed away on Saturday June 17, 2017.

Eugene (Gene) was born in Mifflintown Borough, PA on October 19, 1930 to Eugene and Dorothy (Harris) Michael.  Born and raised in PA, he married the love of his life, Wanda Y. Koppenheffer on June 23, 1951.  They were blessed with their first daughter, Lynda in 1952. Then their second blessing came of a daughter, Cynthia arrived in 1958.  Then they followed their dreams and headed west to Arizona and then on to Southern California where their third blessing of a daughter, Colleen arrived in 1961.

Gene loved his career as a butcher, meat dept. supervisor, a meat and deli buyer for a chain of grocery stores and then as a seafood salesman, all in CA.  He traveled frequently throughout the USA for many years for business and traveled the world as much as possible. He was also always very involved in their local church serving on church boards and as Sunday school superintendent. Gene and Wanda relocated and retired in Boise, Idaho near their one daughter and family.  He enjoyed his last 5+ years living at Karcher Estates in Nampa.

Gene was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wanda of 59 years.  Survived by his 3 daughters, Lynda (Lloyd) Scott, Cynthia (James) Blowers, and Colleen (Jay) Johnson; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren, his brother Frank (Audrey) Michael, and 8 nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks you to be generous and carefree with kindness.  Offer a compliment to someone for just being themselves, love unconditionally, give someone the benefit of the doubt, forget a debt someone owes you, or forgive someone who treated you wrong. The world is a better place because he was here and we will miss him dearly.

We would like to express our gratitude to Keystone Hospice for their support and care of our Dad during his last couple months of his life.  And also express our gratitude to the staff at Karcher Estates for providing a happy home for him over the past 5 years.

Funeral services to be held on Friday, June 23, 2017 at Cloverdale Funeral Home at 1200 N. Cloverdale Rd., Boise, ID.  Viewing at 10am, funeral service at 11am.
