Geraldine Grubb Harrison

Geraldine G. “Gerry” Harrison, 97, of Boise, ID, formerly of Roanoke, VA, and Raleigh, NC, passed away on October 18, 2021. Gerry, who was born on Easter Sunday in 1924, was a graduate of Andrew Lewis High School and National Business College in Salem, VA, and spent her early career working in the offices of Holdren’s Appliances, Haverty Furniture, and J. W. Burress, Inc., all in Roanoke, VA, before getting involved in real estate. She later moved to Raleigh, NC, where she was active in the real estate field. In Raleigh, she made friends with several ladies with whom she was able to spend time at the beach, playing cards, traveling, and (after moving to Idaho) she loved playing cards and bingo with her son, Donnie. Her great travel adventure was a tour of Europe which she said was the trip of a lifetime. She loved traveling to casinos in Atlantic City, NJ, Cherokee, NC, and Jackpot, NV, and playing the slot machines. At the age of 90, she moved to Boise, ID, to be closer to her son and his family. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Stella Grubb, and her brothers, Glenn, Griffin, and Galen. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Donald and Betty Grisso of Boise, ID, her grandson, Scott Grisso of Jerome, ID, and grandson, Shannon Grisso and his wife Mechelle of Boise, ID. A small reception will be held on November 6th at 2:00 PM at the home of Donnie and Betty Grisso where we will share stories and memories of our times with Gerry. A graveside service will take place at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem, VA, in the summer of 2022 where she will rest alongside her parents and her brother, Galen.
