Geraldine “Jeri” (Salisbury) Ward age 87 of Meridian Idaho, passed away at the home of her loving daughter Sue Ann Eliason on Saturday October 28th, 2017 in Hauser Idaho.
She was born in Richfield Utah on August 2nd 1930 to Bertland Salisbury and Vernessa (Cook) Salisbury. Her mother passed away when she was 5 years old, and she was raised by step-mother Lottie.
When she was in the eighth grade she was staff artist on the War Bond Committee and drew posters advertising war bonds for her school. She graduated from Richfield High School in 1948. After high school she moved to Salt Lake City and worked for Auerbach’s Department Store where she also worked as a model. A few years later she moved to Sun Valley, Idaho where she met and married Norris Ward in Elko, Nevada in 1953.
Norris and Jeri owned and operated The Colonel's Pancake House in Ketchum, Idaho for eight years. They owned and operated The Pepper Mill and then The Colonel's Kitchen in Twin Falls, Idaho. They moved to Meridian, Idaho in 1984 where she worked for the Meridian School District and retired in 2002 at age 72.
Jeri was preceded in death by her husband, Norris on May 31st 2009. She is survived by her sister Shirley Graves, children Rickard Ward (Jane) of Auburn WA, Sue Ann Eliason (Craig) of Hauser ID, Scott Ward (Wendy) of Meridian, ID; grandchildren Ryan Ward (Keri), Heather Bartron (Ryan), Kevin Ward, Jesse Ward, Leslie Ward, Lee Calkins (Kristina), Kristy Griffard (Alex), Emily Morris (Dustin), Jeralyn Docekal (Shane), Alexis Eliason (Steven), Lindsay Barber (Braden), Nate Eliason, Caitlyn Eliason, Abby Bingham (Mike), James Ward, Becka Ward, and Michael Ward. She is also survived by 14 great-grandchildren.
The Funeral will be held in the Cherry Lane LDS Chapel at 1615 W. 2nd St. Meridian, Idaho on Saturday, November 4th. Viewing will be at 9am with the Service at 10am.
