Jacob Lee Wilcomb

March 10, 1982 ~ April 24, 2022 (age 40) 40 Years Old

Tribute

Jacob Lee Wilcomb, 40, of Boise, Idaho, passed away April 24, 2022, of natural causes.  He was born in Boise, Idaho on March 10, 1982 to Philip & Marian Wilcomb.

From an early age, Jake had an imagination that knew no limits.  He created his own language (he called it Zucchini Spanish), which he would drop in and out of in regular conversations, often becoming frustrated when others couldn’t follow along with him.  He claimed to have seen a Bigfoot in the mountains near Lowman and a small Troll-like creature in his very own basement – both experiences which he swore were true until the day he died.

Jake was a kind, gentle soul.  He spent ten plus years working at a group home where he cared for kids and young adults with developmental disabilities.  He knew and watched over many of the same kids the entire time he was there, helping to raise them and becoming very close to them.  He loved and cared for them as if they were his own and would talk about them and their achievements with great pride.

Jake always kept a few dollars in his wallet, specifically to hand out to the homeless.  He would never hesitate to give his last dollar away and would often stop to have genuine conversations with whomever he was helping out.

Jake was a walking encyclopedia for music & movies of nearly all genres, with vast collections of each – he had over 2,500 vinyl albums and hundreds of movies.  He would glow with pure excitement sharing facts about an old blues guitarist he’d recently discovered, a limited print Swedish Death Metal album he’d found at the Record Exchange, a house show he’d been to the night before, or a copy of a low budget film he’d found on eBay.  Additionally, Jake was a very talented musician.  He could play a variety of instruments, including guitar, bass, drums, accordion & ukulele

Jake was a beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, uncle & friend to many and will be missed by all.  His untimely departure leaves countless broken hearts behind.  He is survived by his mother Marian, brother Luke (Melissa, Reid & Benet), Uncle Mike (Deb), Aunt Cece (Steve), and cousins Justin (Kim), Carmen (Brian), Kelly, & Katie.

Jake is preceded in death by his father, Philip, uncle, Larry, and grandparents, Robert & Jackie Wilcomb, and Dewey & Maxine Weber.

At his request, no funeral will be held.  Plans are in the works for a scholarship in Jake’s name at Boise Rock School (please contact the family if you are interested in donating).
