James Fred Evans passed away February 3, 2021 in Yuma, Arizona at age 83. Jim was born in Los Angeles, California but lived in Burley, Idaho till moving to Boise in 1959. Jim married his high school sweetheart Gae Munson in 1954 and they had four children. Gae passed in 1986. Jim served his country at Fort Dix, New Jersey in the mid-1950’s.
Jim married his second sweetheart Susan Pierce on August 17, 1991 in Rupert Idaho.
Jim spent several years as a sales representative for various companies until he found his true profession for the Idaho Department of Corrections from which he retired. After that he owned the Burley Pawn Shop til he sold it.
Jim enjoyed coin-collecting, playing bridge, 4-wheelin and jeepin’ and for many years playing Santa Claus.
Jim is survived by his wife Susan Evans, Heyburn, Idaho; Daughters Joni (Randy) Buckley, Caldwell, Idaho; Teri (Doug) Finch, Boise, Idaho; Toni (Tom) White, Payette, Idaho and son Ren (Jil) Evans, Boise, Idaho; Step-daughter Liz (David) Pritchard, Heyburn, Idaho and Sister Kareena (Barton) Lyons. Nine grandchildren and numerous great-grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Gae, of Boise Idaho; parents Fred and Gladys Evans, Burley, Idaho and sister Marilyn Smith of Boise, Idaho.
Viewing will be Wednesday, February 17, 2021 from 2-4 at Cloverdale Funeral Home, Boise, Idaho. Protocol requires wearing a mask, 6 feet apart and no more than 50 in attendance. There will be a gathering a day or two later - details will follow.
