James Earl Mertzweiller, 38, of Idaho City, Idaho passed on September 2nd, 2020. He was born August 17, 1982 in Hanover, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife of 13 years Alicia (Ford) Mertzweiller, and their five children: Cierra, Tyrell, Gabriella, Merlin, and Jessamine. His parents David and Linda Mertzweiller, of Wyoming. His siblings Samuel Mertzweiller, of Idaho; Timothy Mertzweiller, of Idaho; Rebekah Zimcosky, of Idaho; Ruthy Jones, of Indiana; Shari Keck, of Wyoming; Seth Mertzweiller, of New Mexico, and Stephen Mertzweiller, of Wyoming; along with many nieces and nephews.
His primary education was completed in Salem, Ohio at Salem Christian Academy, graduating class of 2000. James served honorably in the Marines from 2001 - 2004, achieving the rank of Sargent. After which he went on to become a man of many trades who specialized in his skill for carpentry. He was also a passionate craftsman of many mediums, to name a few, he was an artist, poet, jewelry maker, musician, and songwriter. He was proficient in teaching anyone who would like to learn his techniques of “how to make less moves to get the job done”. He was most notably a fun loving, happy man that said, “I will never grow up”. His wild heart, fierce love for his family, sincere compassion for his children, and warm heart to all youth is what he will be most remembered for. Many family and friends will forever fondly remember James.
A celebration of his life will be held September 9, 2020, at 10:00 AM, at their private family plot in Idaho City, Idaho.
